Exuberant nature, lovely beaches, activities for all interests, festive atmosphere and tasty gastronomy define the essence of Mazatlán. World famous as “the place” for marlin and sail fish fishing, hosting the Bisbee’s Billfish Classic tournament (November) one of the most expected events of the year, after the renowned Carnival that attracts thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year. During the last years the Pearl of the Pacific, as this city is also known, has become a favorite of the baby boomers (especially American and Canadian) to enjoy long leisure stays.

A favorite destination for weddings, honeymooners, families and groups of contemporary adults in couples. Notable tourist service infrastructure growth, concentrated in new areas of development, such as Zona Dorada the trendiest and most modern place in the port (luxurious resorts, spas, restaurants, discos, lounges and bars).

Local cuisine is outstanding regarding fresh fish and seafood, presented in dishes that are already world famous, and among which aguachile is one of the main stars. To visit: Malecón (beach walk); walk around the Old Mazatlan, the city’s historical and cultural where some of the most symbolic attractions are located (Cathedral, Machado Plaza, Archaeology Museum, Ángela Peralta Theater, must); Art Museum (permanent exhibits of the works of Cuevas, Tamayo and Toledo; some pieces of local artists); the Mazatlán Lighthouse (the second tallest in the world, on Cerro del Crestón); Aquarium, Museum of Shells (the latter in Zona Dorada -unique collection of shells and snails – both are great to visit with children); tour to Isla de Piedra or to Isla Venados (natural reserve, practically a virgin beach, perfect for diving, snorkeling or simply swimming) Islas Redo, San Juan and Baradito (famous among the Canadian duck, white dove and other bird species hunting aficionados- Beaches Olas Altas, Norte, Bruja and Gaviotas (surf for experts and beginners; May to September, the best time). First class golf courses (El Cid, Campestre Mazatlán, Estrella de Mar).

Right on the beachfront. The first restaurant of the famous Anderson´s chain; although the cuisine is inconsistent. Fun and casual, very popular in Mazatlan; perfect to see the sunset. Ideal with friends.

Mexican seafood cuisine.

Traditional place in front of the beach. Informal fresh and casual atmosphere. Well-served dishes with good seasoning.  Ideal for a romantic outing or for families. Branch in La Gran Plaza mall.

Sinaloa cuisine with an international touch.

Colorful and fun; its name comes as an honor to Pedro Infante and Lola Beltrán; in front of Plazuela Machado inside a neoclassic building. Live music on weekends. Ideal for families or friends.
